Linda Rice - Treasurer
Linda Rice is the President of Friends of Forge Road and Toano (FORT). FORT works to protect, preserve, and enhance the tranquil beauty and peaceful character of our rural byway, Toano, and adjacent neighborhoods. She is also on the Executive Board of the James City County Citizens Coalition and a member of the James City County Purchase of Development Rights Committee.
She worked for 16 years as an Environmental Scientist for the US Army. She has had assignments at Fort Eustis, Fort Monroe, the Installation Management Agency in Washington, DC and the Pentagon where she worked for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for the Environment. She has also worked for James City County as a management analyst and taught biology at Keoughtan High School and Thomas Nelson Community College. She has earned a B.A. in biology from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and an M.A. in biology from the College of William and Mary. She was recognized in 2001 with awards from the Secretary of Defense and the White House Office of the Federal Executive for her efforts in pollution prevention. She is married and has lived in the Williamsburg area for over 35 years.
