Henry Broaddus
Henry Broaddus currently serves as the Associate Provost for Enrollment and Dean of Admission at William & Mary. In addition to his involvements in higher education, Henry has been active in several campaigns pertaining to conservation and environmental justice, most notably efforts to protect the Pamunkey and Mattaponi Rivers. Along with his mother, Frances Crutchfield, Henry challenged a proposed wastewater treatment plant in Hanover County from 1999-2005. Although they did not succeed in preventing its construction, the litigation they pursued set an important precedent for citizens to have the legal standing to challenge environmental permits.
In 2003 Governor Mark Warner appointed Henry to the Virginia Scenic Rivers Advisory Board, a body on which he continues to serve, and in 2006 he became a VCN board member.
